"Serving with Pride since 1947"

The Baker Family has been involved in the Septic business for over 60 years. The earliest documented evidence of involvement in concrete products by the founder, Miles L. Baker, is identified in a tax form from the year 1940. Mr. Baker started the business as M.L. Baker Concrete Products. The primary products at that time were concrete blocks and slump brick. In 1947, Mr. Baker began installing concrete block septic tanks and incorporated the business as Baker Septic Installations, Inc. Individuals from the community who assisted Mr. Baker in the operation of the business in those early years were Frank Ancrum, Raymond R. Kelly, Otis C. Fuller, Hestele Redmon, and Joel Wooten, and John Willard Pollard.

In 1973, Robert "Bob" L. Baker, one of Miles’ three children, joined him in the business. At this time, the plant was located at 501 Park Street in downtown Sebring, Florida. Shortly thereafter, William "Skip" Evans joined Bob in the business as a septic system installer. Bob and Skip have worked together for 33 years. During this time, John West worked in the business forming tanks in molds manufactured by Bob Baker. Lori Evans, Skip’s daughter, ran the office.

In 1999 after graduating from South Florida Community College, Kelley, his daughter, joined Bob in the daily operation of the business by managing the office. Due to growth and expansion and the convenience of accessing jobs in and around the county, Bob relocated the business in the year 2000 to south of Sebring off Highway 27 to 7740 South George Boulevard. In 2001, Philip, Bob’s son was employed by the business full time; and in 2007, Bob’s wife, Anne, joined the family in the daily operations.

In the recent past, Robert has expanded the business to include septic tank pumping, portable restroom rentals/servicing, and PreCast Concrete construction. The business has grown from two employees to an average of fifteen. The organization chart represents the current corporate officers and employees.

Over the past 35 years, the business has evolved from "hand digging" and laying block for septic system installation to:

  • producing on site pre cast concrete septic tanks using an on site concrete batch plant
  • manufacturing new and expanded tank molds from 350 to 1350 gallon tanks
  • providing the JET (ATU) wastewater treatment system
  • designing and installing new or replacement residential and commercial septic systems
  • evaluating septic system functioning
  • providing stock and special order precast concrete products
  • cleaning and servicing septic tanks and grease traps
  • providing portable restrooms and cleaning services for construction and special events.

  • Baker Septic Installations, Inc. is committed to continuing as a family owned and operated business. Our goal is to operate our business with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and dependability and provide a quality and timely product and/or service that meets the needs of the customer and respects and protects the environment for the next sixty years.
